Born in 1958, Pierre Lemoine is a music publisher. After obtaining a master's degree in agronomy in 1979 and a doctorate in economics in 1984, he succeeded his father in 1987 at the helm of Editions Henry Lemoine. Founded in 1772, this French company specializes in publishing musical works. Upon his arrival at the head of the family business, he adapted it to new technologies and modernized it to better meet market requirements, notably by creating a high-performance sheet music distribution company, Hexamusic.

Publisher of instrumental music (Berlioz, Donizetti, Damase, Gounod, Piazzolla, Vierne...), Maison Lemoine places musical education at the heart of its activities. Le Solfège des Solfèges, les Classiques favoris, le Panthéon des pianistes, la Théorie de Danhauserand, more recently, works by C. Hervé and J. Pouillard, M. Labrousse and M.-H. Siciliano, ensure the continued success of Editions Henry Lemoine, which publishes around a hundred music teaching books every year.

On the strength of its pedagogical and instrumental expertise, Editions Henry Lemoine is also a major player in the field of concert music, where its activities have continued to expand over the past thirty years.

In association with such prestigious and indisputable figures as Hugues Dufourt, Tristan Murail, Michaël Lévinas, Edith Canat de Chizy, Ichiro Nodaira, Philippe Hurel and Michael Jarrell, they now open their catalog to young composers such as Bruno Mantovani, Régis Campo, Yann Robin and Bastien David.

At the same time, Pierre Lemoine has acquired internationally renowned catalogs such as Editions Van de Velde, Combre, Jobert, Delrieu, and more recently Robert Martin. Since 2007, he has also managed Paul Beuscher music stores.

Pierre Lemoine has been Chairman of the Chambre syndicale des Editeurs de Musique de France (CEMF) since 2010, Chairman and Managing Director of the Société des Editeurs et Auteurs de Musique (SEAM) since 2013, and a member of the SACEM supervisory board. He was elected Corresponding Member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 2020.
