Florence
Martin is passionate about the music of yesterday and today, and artistic creation in general. Since the end of April 2024, she has been Artistic Director of the Cité musicale Metz
(a merger between the Orchestre national de Metz Grand Est and the three concert halls of
Metz: Arsenal Jean-Marie Rausch, BAM and Trinitaires).
A musician and graduate of Sciences Po Rennes, Florence Martin made her debut at
Berlin's Konzerthaus in 2004, before joining the Philharmonie de Luxembourg team at
when the hall opened in June 2005. There she met the contemporary music ensemble
United Instruments of Lucilin (Luxembourg), which she then accompanied in
its general and artistic development in Luxembourg and internationally for over
fifteen years, ten of which as co-director. During this time, the Ensemble performed at major contemporary music venues such as
Musica Strasbourg, Huddersfield contemporary
music festival, the Ruhrtriennale, the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam and the Festival Ciclo de
Musica contemporanea in Buenos Aires.
Her current role includes programming concerts, shows and exhibitions at
all Cité musicale-Metz entities.
