After teaching trumpet, he decided to specialize in early music, which he studied at the CRR de Paris (source reading, 17th-century instrumental and vocal treatises, temperaments, and cornet à bouquin in Jean Tubéry's class). At the same time, he perfected his baroque trumpet skills at the CRR de Versailles. He performs regularly on cornet à bouquin and baroque trumpet with the La Tempête company, the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, the Banquet Céleste and the Artaserse ensemble (dir. Philippe Jaroussky). After conducting the Collégium de l'Orchestre des Jeunes d'Île-de-France, he founded his own ensemble, the Collégium Cantorbéry, with whom he has recorded several soundtracks for Radio France.

Christophe Dilys obtained his diploma in orchestral conducting from the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot. He perfected his skills in masterclasses (notably with Jean-Claude Casadesus on the music of Maurice Ravel). He also studied with Cecilia Weston (British conductor for Fox, Warner Bros, Paramount and Universal studios) after obtaining his Diplôme d'Aptitude à la Direction de Sociétés Musicales from the Confédération Musicale de France. He is currently musical director of the Orchestre Symphonique Inter-Universités de Paris (OSIUP).

Christophe joined France Musique in 2012 during his internship with the CNSMDP. He then worked as a production assistant before becoming executive producer and occasional substitute (Dépêches Notes, Concerts du Soir, Arabesque, Trésors de France Musique, Musique Matin). Every Saturday at 8.50 a.m., he hosts Tendez l'oreille!, a column in which he introduces the less specialized public to the most specialized musical and historical details.
