The AO has joined the prestigious ECHO network, which brings together 24 major concert halls in 13 European countries. Each year, the ECHO selects six promising young artists and supports the blossoming of their careers by organizing a tour of the network's venues. The Auditorium welcomes four of these "Rising Stars", who are sure to become tomorrow's great stars.

Founded in Belgium in 2019, the Sonoro Quartet is no longer a rookie ensemble, having already travelled to half a dozen European countries. In terms of repertoire, they have chosen the great classics with the Sunrise Quartet, perhaps the most beautiful of Haydn's quartets, and Shostakovich's Eighth Quartet, another mythical score, written in 1958 in the wake of the discovery of Dresden devastated by the bombs of the Second World War and dedicated "to the victims of war and fascism". As with all Rising Stars, the program is completed by a new work. In this case, it was commissioned from their compatriot Annelies van Parys, a major figure on the Belgian contemporary scene.

As part of the "Rising Stars" program of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO).

Running time: 1 hour with no intermission.
