Polish-born conductor Anna Duczmal-Mróz, a rising star on the European scene, has chosen a program combining virtuosity and the musical riches of her native country. This is also an opportunity to discover the young composer Barbara Kaszuba, a driving force behind contemporary creation in Poland, whose award-winning works have already been performed in Poland and abroad. Poland also means Chopin. His Piano Concerto No. 2 is performed by Alexander Gadjiev, winner of the Warsaw Chopin Competition. To round off this musical voyage, Anna winks at the twinning of Rennes and Poznan, with a Celtic-inspired work, Felix Mendelssohn's joyous Scottish Symphony No. 3.
