The Lyon Auditorium is one of only three concert halls in France with an organ. A privilege that makes it all the more important to open up the stage to young organists, and that's what these new Petits Concerts d'orgue are designed to do, with artists on the threshold of a brilliant career who certainly don't want to spend their careers hidden away in church galleries!

Third prize winner of the Olivier Messiaen International Competition held at the Auditorium in November 2022, Pierre-François Purson revealed fingers of steel and a fiery temperament. The "main course" of his recital was Maurice Duruflé's Suite, crowned by the famous "Toccata". This major work is surrounded by two large-scale frescoes by Duruflé's master, Charles Tournemire, who shares with his disciple an inner turmoil tempered by a veil of modesty, elegance and mysticism. A rare cycle by Nadia Boulanger completes this original program. This teacher, adored by a whole generation of composers and mentor to her younger sister Lili, reveals a lively pen with a charming Renaissance flavor.

Running time: 1 hour 10 minutes with no intermission.
