Programme

Lili Boulanger, D'un matin du printemps
Frédéric Chopin, Piano Concerto No. 2, in F minor, Op. 21
Edvard Grieg, Peer Gynt (excerpts from incidental music)

A program full of poetry and ardor. Ingrid Fliter is one of today's leading Chopin interpreters, and Tabita Berglung reveals not only the famous pieces from Peer Gynt, but also his most secret pages.

Second prizewinner of the 2000 Warsaw Chopin Competition, Ingrid Fliter seems born to play the Polish composer. In a mixture of gentleness and fever, she grasps every arcane detail. Sweetness and fever: this duo also governs Lili Boulanger's touching symphonic poem (now a standard in the Orchestre national de Lyon's repertoire) and the incidental music to Peer Gynt, performed by a young conductor who, like the score, hails from Norway. Tabita Berglund presents us with large excerpts, revealing that, in addition to the illustrious "Au matin", "Dans la grotte du roi de la montagne" and "Chanson de Solvejg", the score conceals many other treasures!

Running time: 1h15 with no intermission.
