Who can name female composers? Clara Schumann, Lili Boulanger... they can be counted on the fingers of one hand, and yet there are so many of them who have been consciously or unconsciously erased from the collective artistic memory. Violinist Marina Chiche, the Orchestre de l'Opéra and the Orchestre Régional de Normandie, conducted by Chloé Dufresne, take us on a gala evening to meet Mel Bonis, Ethel Smyth, Florence Price and Amy Beach, the first American composer to write a symphony. History has left them behind? Let's celebrate the talent of these fabulous female composers.
