Les Métaboles and Léo Warynski bring the multi-choir repertoire to the fore. The principle of writing for separate choirs enjoyed its Baroque heyday under the vaults of the Sistine Chapel - witness Allegri's Misererefor two choirs, the sacred works of Marc-Antoine Charpentier, who admired these polyphonies during his trip to Italy, or Orazio Benevolo's Missa tu es petrus, for four choirs, recently resurrected by Les Métaboles.
