Hans Christian Andersen's famous fairy tale adapted here as a concert-fiction.
In the depths of the sea, the water is the bluest and purest, with marvellous flowers, plants and trees, and fish dart between them... There stands a castle whose walls are made of coral and whose roof is made of shells containing the most beautiful shining pearls... It's the castle of the king of the sea, where the little mermaid lives. But she dreams of nothing more than discovering the world above, where humans live. Like her older sisters before her, on her fifteenth birthday she is allowed to swim to the surface. This is the beginning of Hans Christian Andersen's famous tale, published in 1837 and adapted here as a concert-fiction.
