STEVE REICH, Tehilim

Composing a work is like "preparing a meal for someone you love", smiles American Caroline Shaw, the youngest winner of the Pulitzer Prize for music, honored here. Both must "be nourishing and complex; you taste it easily at first, only to discover that there's much more underneath". This is proved by her Partita for Eight Voices, set against two new pieces by Théo Mérigeau, as well as Steve Reich's precious Tehilim ("Psalms" in Hebrew), crowning an evening dedicated to the voice.
