The Orchestre de chambre de Paris lunchtime concerts at the Théâtre du Châtelet offer a unique musical experience, combining contemporary creations with the repertoire. An opportunity to discover emerging composers... while revising the classics. This season, four talents from the orchestra's Académie de jeunes compositrices, created in 2021 to encourage young female musicians to break into composition (see our article on transmission on page 67), present their creations. This opportunity to have their pieces performed by the orchestra on the Théâtre du Châtelet stage brings to a close two years of writing workshops supervised by artistic curator and composer Thomas Lacôte, composer Clara Olivares, conductor and pianist Lars Vogt, and the orchestra's musicians.

First performance on March 23, with creations by Franco-Iranian Farnaz Modarresifar and Korean Haeun Choi, mirrored by the overture to Coriolan. Valor, hesitation and the choice of supreme honor: the heroic journey of the Roman general is condensed here in a dazzling way. Also a pianist, flutist and organist, Haeun Choi has turned to electroacoustic composition. A virtuoso on the santûr, the Iranian "table cythara", Farnaz Modarresifar has won the highest Iranian and international awards, and now combines her two careers as instrumentalist and composer, between Persian traditions and contemporary music.
