Through the ages, the French horn has often been associated with nature, hunting and combat... In the 19th century, composers dreaming of enchanted forests fell in love with this instrument, as demonstrated by this program led by Bulgarian-born conductor Delyana Lazarova, featuring the ONBA's talented solo horn. The Glière String Concerto(1951) illustrates the Russian echo of this romantic tradition. As a prelude to this celebration of nature, horns will be sounding all day on September 30 in Bordeaux and surrounding towns...
