Excerpts from works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Felix Mendelssohn, Claude Debussy, Grace Williams, Benjamin Britten, Ottorino Respighi...
The Orchestre de Paris takes to the water and invites the audience to get wet with it, as Sabine Quindou and her sea turtle reveal the vital importance of water and oceans, with the complicity of Beethoven, Respighi and Debussy.
It's in the spirit of the TV show "C'est pas sorcier" that Sabine Quindou, assisted by a talkative sea turtle, presents this aquatic tour of the Orchestre de Paris.
Oceans cover 70% of the Earth's surface, and without them, life would not exist. It's thanks to the oceans that our planet sits like a unique star in the universe. But where does this water come from? When did the first forms of underwater life appear? Is man descended from fish? Is it true that half the oxygen we breathe comes from the seabed? And is shower water the same as ocean water?
Sabine Quindou and her turtle will answer all these questions and many more, as the audience is guided in its discovery by the expressive possibilities of the orchestra, since water has always been an object of fascination for music.
With the collaboration of the Laboratoire de Biologie des organismes et les écosystèmes aquatiques and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS BOREA)
