The Association Française des Orchestres is the professional organization of reference for orchestras; it has been since 2000. 

The Association Française des Orchestres was created on the initiative of permanent orchestras with the support of the General Direction of Artistic Creation (DGCA – Ministry of Culture).
It aims to showcase and promote both the established repertoire and the newer creations as well as the performers, as part and parcel of the cultural public service and in the service of the general interest.

The Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne is made up of 44 permanent musicians and an administrative team of 5. Organized as an association under the law of 1901, it is supported by the City of Dijon, the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region, the Burgundy-Franche-Comté DRAC, the Côte d'Or Department and the City of Fontaine-lès-Dijon. An ensemble associated with the Dijon Opera, the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne provides operatic and symphonic performances and develops numerous cultural initiatives throughout the region. With a budget of €1.4 million, it gives around 50 public performances per season.
